Text from DLux's DJ biog: Dj Dlux, has been doing his best to spin the hits in some shape or form since the early 90’s. Born Nicolas D. Lux. in Buffalo N. Y. on the eastern suburb/metro area of Williamsville until moving with his family to the state of the amber waves of grain. Right smack in the middle of the mid-west….Indiana. That’s correct the Hoosier State. Well, proving there is more than corn in Indiana; dlux showed interest in music at an early age by mimicking local radio personalities and recording his own show at home with his boom box. Even when getting invited to social teenage parties he always wanted to be in charge of the music instead of catching up on gossip or other socially acceptable teenage interests. It would be safe to say dlux caught the dj bug at an early age. |

| Wanting to make his parents proud
he enrolled in southern Indiana’s Vincennes University and studied
Broadcasting and Audio Production. It was here that he hooked up
with an on campus studio lab tech who was a local dj in the college
bar scene. Dlux was hooked after the first gig. From there it was
running sound for bands, djing at local bars, house parties, sound
and Emceeing for Male reviews. To keep his parents happy dlux still
followed his education and graduated in Broadcasting and
production. After graduation dlux hit the airwave of Northeast
Indiana but after 3 years of budget cut backs and some slow money it
was that dance music and club scene that kept calling his name. So,
he hung up programming and stop sets and traded music formats for
musical freedom. Purchasing his first pair tables in one of those DJ in a box kits Nicolas D. Lux became DJ dlux and locked him self in a “bed room” for close to a year before he felt comfortable enough to send out demo’s to clubs all over town. After several brief residencies in Ft. Wayne, Indiana’s second largest city dlux started getting a vibe around town for being the people’s dj. He is fun, he’s easy to work with, and club goers like him because of the mix and friendly personality. Name recognition was what he was looking for and that is what he was getting and that was when Downtown called. Club Inc. Downtown Ft.Wayne’s focal point was going through a change in ownership and genre. Inc. was looking for someone who could read a crowd and try something different. It was the perfect match. After a two-year stint helping turn Club Inc. into a big room boom dlux found it was time to move on and take the next step. During most weekends you can catch him in a club some where in the tri-state are choosing a more mobile approach. “It just works for me, being mobile; not that I wouldn’t do a residency again I loved Inc. and everyone there it was just that I felt I needed a change.” All this time Dlux has kept his focus on djing. Even though starting on various production projects and club concepts he has maintained true to what he believe in. That belief is music and the dance floor. He will never forget where he came from and feels that is the key to any success. It’s that cool attitude that has allowed dj dlux to become very well established in his market allowing him to do exactly what he loves. MUSIC!!! |
